The official visit of the President of Georgia in the Republic of Azerbaijan has begun. The official welcoming ceremony was held at the Zagulba Palace in Baku after which the Presidents of Georgia and Azerbaijan held a bilateral meeting. Mikheil Saakashvili and Ilham Aliyev spoke about bilateral relations and issues related to future cooperation. The discussion also touched on the ongoing political events in Georgia.

The sides later held a wider format meeting. Members of delegations discussed ongoing and planned projects in specific spheres. Leaders of the two countries stressed that negotiations within the scope of this visit will assist future development of regional cooperation.
